Zambia and Mozambique have officially launched a cross border fibre optic interconnector that links Zambia's national backbone to Mozambique's coastal infrastructure, marking a significant step in Southern Africa's digital integration drive. Launched at the Chanida–Cassacatiza One-Stop. Mozambique is improving its digital connections to the rest of the world with the installation of two cross-border fibre cables to South Africa.
